AOK in Action · Education

Give us 15 to 30 minutes. We'll celebrate what your program gives the world.

Share what kindness means to your class, club or team, and how your passion for teaching connects to it. In return, your contribution to the kindness civilization goes on the public record. Drama Club is just the example below. Your robotics team, your choir or your Spanish class works the same way.

What kindness means to us · Heart & Light
Everyone is welcome, on stage or behind it. The kindness is making room for the student who has never been in a show.
A²OK drafted this from their program page. Their own words would be better.

What is this card?
A²OK World keeps a public record of kindness that organizations already practice. Nobody asked to be on it.
A kindness that helped us
A local paper wrote up our one-act. Ticket sales doubled the next weekend.
A kindness we give
Crew stays after strike to help the next group load in. Nobody asks them to.
Why we started
So every student has somewhere to belong after the last bell.
Who taught us kindness
A director who learned every name in the cast by the first read-through.
Someone we'd miss
The parent who brings soup to tech week. Every show, for six years.
What anyone can do here
Sit in on a rehearsal. Just ask at the box office.

Carried up from the Spark
Our vision
A stage where every student finds a place: cast, crew, or both.
What we do every day
The rehearsal room stays open after school for anyone who needs somewhere to be.
We'd host
A kindness skit night, with AOK Man or without him.
What we teach new members
Mistakes are part of rehearsal. Nobody gets laughed at for a dropped line.
Every year
The Golden Ghost Light, for the crew member nobody saw.
Who else deserves to be seen
The costume closet at the food shelf that lends us coats for every winter show.

Kindness is an annual plant. It has to be planted every year. With or without AOK Man, anonymous acts of kindness must go on. You shouldn't have to say it about yourself. That's what we're here for. A Spark accrues only for an act performed without seeking credit. Anonymous Acts of Kindness · since 11,000 BC

What it gives your program

It grows with you. Everything after the Flag appears when your program takes part and keeps it current.

  • Your card is a gift. We build the Flag from what you've already published. Planting it is always free, and you decide whether to claim it.
  • Families find you without a login. Once you claim it, your card shows up in a search, no Facebook account needed.
  • When you post them, your public shows, games and fundraisers appear in AOK Events, and every dollar goes straight to your program or boosters.
  • When your students make a kindness skit or video, their story runs in the Kindness Gazette, ready to share with parents and sponsors.

Questions educators ask

What about student privacy?

Students appear by first name or role only, never a full name. You choose every photo. Any video stays on your own school or program channel; we only link to it.

Do I need my principal's or district's OK?

Many schools will want someone to look first, and that's welcome. Send them this page. Nothing goes public until A²OK has reviewed it, and you can change or remove anything at any time.

How much time does it take?

The Flag takes none. The Spark is about ten minutes, the Flame about twenty more. The Blaze is one short kindness video your group makes together.

Who keeps it up to date?

Nothing needs upkeep until the Blaze. From there your program updates its own season and photos, as often or as rarely as it likes.

Does it cost anything?

Your Kindness Card is a gift. Planting your flag, and your listing in the AOK Directory, will always be free. Everything above that costs nothing today. AOK World is run by volunteers, and as the civilization grows, keeping it standing will take real time and real tools. When that day comes, we'll work it out together, in the open. Nobody will ever be surprised by a bill.

Is this advertising?

No. Nothing is for sale and nobody pays to be on it. It's a public record of the kindness your students already practice.
