Campaign one · Hidden Heroes

Somebody is quietly holding this place up.

The firefighter who stays after the call. The night aide who learns every resident's name. The neighbor who has shoveled the whole block for nine winters and never mentioned it. AOK World's job is to notice them, out loud, so they know someone saw.

Noticed so far

A few of them

Their stories run in the Kindness Gazette, one hero at a time.

Nominate someone

Who's your hidden hero?

Tell us who they are and what they do that nobody thanks them for. A sentence is plenty. We'll take it from there, and we never publish anything about a hero they haven't said yes to.

Tell us who

Their first name, and where people would know them from: a fire station, a care home, a school, a street.

Tell us what

The thing they do that nobody notices. Specific is better than big.

We say thank you

A note, a visit, sometimes AOK Man himself, and a story in the Gazette if they're willing.

The gathering

A Hidden Heroes Gathering, at your place

What a Gathering looks like. Illustration

AOK Man comes to your senior living community, care home or volunteer group and celebrates the people who keep it running: the volunteers, the aides, the staff who show up every day and never ask to be thanked. Residents, families and staff together. A certificate, a cape moment, and a story in the Gazette.

You've been wearing the cape all along.

Nursing home administrator or activities director? Invite AOK Man to celebrate your hidden heroes.

The senior communities we're inviting this season

If your community is on this list, a letter from Gloria may already be on its way. If it isn't, it can be.
